All vehicle in American Samoa are either imported from the United States or Japan due to several reasons. Foremost, American Samoa imports vehicles whose steering wheel is installed on the left side of the vehicle. Secondly, all vehicles in American Samoa are designed to drive on the same side of the road equivalent to the USA. Various islands in the South Pacific carries vehicle where the steering wheel is on the opposite side and also drives on the opposite side of the road.
